Terming the proposed Communal Violence Bill as "anti-Hindu", the Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Tuesday threatened a nation-wide agitation against it.

The proposed bill will divide the society in two sections, one of minorities and the other of Hindus. It will also affect the rights of Hindus, VHP leader Ashok Singhal said.

"The government is proposing a shocking bill which would badly hit the rights of the Hindus so we along with saints from across the country will launch a nation-wide agitation soon," Singhal told reporters here today.

"We would also oppose 4.5 per cent reservation to Muslims from the OBC quota. There is no concept of religion-based reservation in our Constitution but this government is doing it," he said.

The Union government is leaving no stone unturned for encroaching on the rights of the Hindus in the country, Former VHP International Executive President alleged.

The strategy of the agitation would be drawn up during the Kumbha mela in Prayag next year with support of around 20,000 saints.

Singhal also highlighted the religous conversation taking place in tribal and coastal areas of the country and alleged that in the last five years a sum of Rs 42,000 crore has been used for suc conversions.
