Does the constitution permit Tendulkar's nomination?

Sachin Tendulkar is now a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha. Prime minister Manmohan Singh recommended his name to the home ministry and it has got the president’s approval.

But does the constitution allow for such a nomination? According to clause 80 (3) of the constitution: "The members to be nominated by the president under sub-clause (a) of clause (1) shall consist of persons having special knowledge or practical experience in respect of matters like literature, science, art and social service."

Sachin apparently does not have an experience in any of the said fields. However, if the list is read as indicative, it's a different matter. Do you think, his nomination is right with respect to the constitution?
