As Pakistan PM Raja Pervez Ashraf is all set for a ‘private’ visit to Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s iconic dargah at Ajmer, the government has stepped up its preparation to welcome the foreign dignitary but has ensured that it does not go overboard in doing the same. External affairs minister Salman Khurshid will be hosting lunch for Ashraf but has clarified that it will strictly be kept a low-profile “informal” affair. In light of the beheading and mutilation incident of two Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops earlier in January, the peace process between the two countries has again hit rock bottom. Protesting against the incident and inaction by the Pakistani government, the spiritual head of the shrine Zainul Abedin has announced that he will boycott the PM’s visit.
