The Union Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has assured full assistance to the University of Kashmir under the National e-governance scheme in terms of e-infrastructure.

The assurance was given by Joint secretary, MCIT, Shankar Aggarwal to varsity officials while leading a high-level team here to review the implementation of the ongoing process of e-governance, University Spokesman Shoukat Shafi told PTI today.

He said the team visited the university yesterday and were briefed by Vice-Chancellor Riyaz Punjabi at a meeting, held in the backdrop of a week-long management development programme (MDP) for various college principals.

While lauding the university for its progress in the e-governance project, Aggarwal said, "it is heartening to see that varsity had been able to implement its e-governance applications successfully.

"The fact that the admission process was fully streamlined via e-governance is an accomplishment for the University of Kashmir," he said.
