A local court has ordered the arrest of the Muzaffarnagar District Magistrate and a Basik Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) as part of contempt proceedings in a case involving land dispute.

Civil Judge Ashok Choudhry has ordered the arrest of DM Pankaj Kumar and a BSA for not adhering to the directions of Civil Judge (Junior Division) Sanjay Choudhry, who had instructed the demolition of a building in Itawa village.

The land was allegedly reserved for a children's playground, but a school was built in its place by the Education department.

The court has also directed that the arrest warrants be executed after June 20.
