Bad weather conditions hampering search operations

The Pawan Hans helicopter carrying Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Dorjee Khandu and four others remained untraced for the third day on Monday. Congress on Monday expressed concerns and said that the government is making all possible efforts to locate the helicopter carrying the CM and other four persons.

Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari told the media, “All efforts are underway to  trace the missing helicopter. Whatever needs to be done is already done. Entire sources have been deployed in the fullest measure to find out about the whereabouts of the chief minister”.

Bad weather conditions hampered search operations too, but technological inputs helped security forces narrow down to three locations at the Indo-Bhutan border. Sources say that the satellite imagery by ISRO and aerial mapping by Sukhoi-30s on Sunday helped zero in on three locations where chopper could have landed or crashed.

Following the tip aerial and ground search is being condected in Eaglenest bird sanctuary and Bagajan in Arunachal Pradesh’ West Kameng district, and in Nobi village in the adjoining Trashi Yangtse district of Bhutan.
