More arrests in case likely next week

The central bureau of investigation on Thursday arrested the husband of Bhanwari Devi in ongoing investigation of her alleged abduction.  He had been examined by the CBI in this connection. According to sources in the investigating agency, few others may also be arrested in the case next week.

Former water resources minister of Rajasthan Mahipal Maderna , the prime accused, and another person had been arrested by CBI on December 2.

CBI had taken up the case on October 10 at the request of the Rajasthan government and a notification from the centre.
 
A chargesheet against three other accused has also been filed on December under section 120-B r/w 364 IPC and substantive offences under 364 IPC and Section 3(2)(v) of SC/ST (POA) Act, 1989 In Court of ACMM(CBI), Jodhpur.

CBI has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh information on Bhanwari Devi. Besides, a reward of Rs 5 lakh has been announced for credible information leading to apprehension of the absconding accused Sahiram Bishnoi.
