Delhi gets comprehensive tourist info-cafe

Will provide information about the Games, tourist attractions in the city, culture, shopping, food, accommodation and nightlife

Delhi’s first ever all-comprehensive tourist info-cafe came up at Red Fort on Monday. The cafe is an extension of government-to-citizens (G2C) kiosks. The objective of the project is to provide immediate access to information about the city by tourists, visitors and people of the city. Ahead of the Commonwealth Games 40 such cafes will be set up at prime market locations of the city.
The huge touch screens have been installed at the site of the cafe.  It would give information about: CW Games; tourist attractions in the city; culture; shopping; food; accommodation and nightlife. Along with the description, people would also know how to reach these facilities using various modes of transport available in the city.
 The touch screens installed at the cafe will provide information in eight different languages both Indian and foreign and will also provide information about Agra, Jaipur and NCR. It would also provide information about ATMs, police stations and hospitals along with important contact numbers. These screens will be also used to flash important news or messages to the viewers. All the information can be downloaded using blue-tooth technology as well as e-mail and taking printouts.
