The National Investigation Agency has questioned eight persons from West Bengal, arrested at Thiruvananthapuram with fake currency, to look into their suspected links with terror outfits.

Police declined to divulge details gathered during the questioning of the accused last evening, but said "nothing is ruled out and we are looking at all angles."

All the arrested have been lodged in the sub-jail here.

The eight men, all aged between 19 to 22 years, were arrested on October 22 and fake Indian currency with a face value of Rs 2.19 lakh, suspected to have been printed in Bangladesh or Pakistan, recovered from them.

Their modus operandi was to purchase small items from shops in rural areas and exchange the fake notes. The racket came to light when two of them bought some items from a footwear shop and tried in vain to exchange a fake Rs 1,000 note.

The others were arrested based on the information gathered during questioning of the duo.

The accused has been staying at two lodges here, police said.
