The rural development ministry has become the second central government ministry to launch the file tracking system after the corporate affairs ministry did the same in February.

“The objective is that all file/notes/receipts are tracked in the organization work flow in a minimum possible manner,” said an official memorandum of the ministry that was send to all its official.

“To achieve this it must be ensured that all the inward and outward files are in the system. It is absolutely important that beginning July 14th, 2010 all transactional files/notes/receipts/from one division /group to other, including those of the finance, administration and programme divisions are routed through this system only,” it said.

The files/notes/receipts that are not routed through this system will not be accepted by the senior officers in the department. Developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) , the application is based on Central Secretariat Manual of Office Procedures (CSMoP) of the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DAR&PG) is very effective in tracking the movement and exact location of any desired file after the upload.
