Haryana govt's integrated plan to minimise road accidents

Will monitor traffic rules in national and state highways in the state gh technology

In an effort to bring down road accidents in the state, Haryana Government has finalised an Integrated State Level Traffic Plan for highways. The plan would be implemented in all the districts and monitor traffic rules on national and state Highways with the help of technology, an official spokesman said here on Wedenesday. It would help in identifying accident prone areas and undertake remedial measures, besides regulating traffic where maintenance or road widening work is in progress. "The plan also aims at curbing the menace of overloading of material and passengers in commercial vehicles, ensuring quick response of concerned PCRs, medical aid and units," he said. The spokesman said that as many as 22 police stations have been established in the state on national highways as part of the government's drive to minimise road accidents. "These traffic police posts have been equipped with the facilities of ambulance with paramedical staff, crane, gypsy, motorcycle, alco-sensor, speed radar, camera and saw machine," he added.
