Play and song have become a major feature of the protest against corruption. Delhi-based Asmita theatre group is among the influential groups which have supported Anna Hazare's movement since its inception in April.

The group performed on Wednesday, during the one-day fast at Rajghat. "Through plays, we strike the right chord with people," Arvind Gaur, director of the theatre group said, "The language is terse and people understand it very quickly."

This group has performed almost 400 plays on different issues in different parts of Delhi in schools, colleges and other locations but their main focus here is to generate awareness on corruption.

Gaur said that Anna has raised an important issue which has permeated to all levels of the society. This group of 18 people clad in black has been one of the star performers in the one-day fast.

Another student group generating awareness on corruption is 'Students Youth against Corruption' which focuses on graft through songs.
