Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday said that the state government was planning to reimburse the interest subsidy of the women members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) by an online facility, to avoid delay in payments.

Reddy launched the second phase of the Rachabanda programme of the state government at Elamanchilli in the district.

He also said that SHG members were getting loans from the banks at the rate of three percent, and the rate would be reduced further, if the Centre agreed.

Reddy noted that at the behest of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi, the state government had launched 'rice at Rs one per kg' scheme in the state from yesterday.

Also, government had decided to provide interest-free agricultural loans upto Rs 1 lakh to farmers if they repay it within a year, starting this rabi season, Reddy said.

The state government had decided to provide a job each to the jobless families from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes, he added.

Tenders for the Polavaram irrigation project had been finalised and work orders would be released soon, he said.
