Axis Bank to set up 12 more branches in Andhra Pradesh

Bank partners with state government in electronic benefit transfer

Axis Bank, India's third largest private sector lender, today announced plans to set up 12 more branches in Andhra Pradesh by March 31.

Once these branches become operational, their total number in the state will go up to 106, a top Axis Bank executive said here.

S K Chakrabarti, Deputy Managing Director, Axis Bank, said said, "The bank is focused on taking its products and services into the farthest corners of the country. The bank, to grow its network and achieve this, planned to open 350 branches across the country by the end of the fiscal."

The bank enjoys the patronage of the State Government for collection of sales tax and undertaking Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) Project on their behalf for disbursement of wages and pension under NREGS and Social Security Pension (SSP) Scheme respectively under smart-card based IT Enabled Financial Inclusion model.

Furthermore, it is the Banking Partner for eSeva Project, an e-Governance initiative of the Andhra Pradesh Government.
