PTI | May 12, 2011

IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which has recently launched its integrated pay-per use, cloud based business solution 'ION', would go for hospital management products in the near future, a senior company official said on Wednesday.

The company would soon come out with a solution in the illness segment and also hospital management, Global head, ION, V Ramaswamy told reporters here.

Speaking at the launch of ION in the city, he said the company's industry solutions were currently available for manufacturing, textile, education, retail quick service restaurants, wellness and professional services.

Stating that ION was aimed at providing solutions to Small and Medium Business (SMB), numbering 35 million in the country, he, however, said 60 per cent of these SMBs did not have proper technology solutions, and the company wanted to tap this market.

Ramaswamy said TCS, already having 100 cloudservice partners across the country, had set a target of 1,000 customers this year and wanted to make a business of one billion USD in the coming five years.
