Data and voice services provider Connect on Wednesday entered into an agreement with data centre company CtrlS to launch cloud computing services in Punjab.

The partnership between the two is aimed at providing a range of services which include Data Centre Infrastructure, disaster recovery, storage, backup and other managed services.

As a part of the strategic alliance, Connect will target the needs of enterprise segment across business vertical.

"The newly launched services will enable us to quickly deliver multiple data management Cloud services that are in high demand in our key markets. Customers can leverage these cloud services to enhance overall data protection capabilities across their organizations," Arvind Bali, CEO & Director, Videocon Telecommunications Ltd, said in Chandigarh.

Cloud computing allows companies to use services, softwares and applications on a pay-per-use model without actually owning any hardware infrastructure or licence.
