As many as 23 companies of paramilitary forces have been allotted to Hyderabad and adjacent Cyberabad police commissionarates to meet any eventuality that may arise after the Srikrishna committee on Telangana submits its report on or before December 31 to union home minister, said police today.

A K Khan, Hyderabad Police Commissioner said they sought 18 companies of paramilitary forces from the centre and 11 companies have arrived.

In addition to that, the Cyberabad (outskirts of Hyderabad and also IT hub of the state) police were allotted five companies of forces of which two companies are deployed in Madhapur area where most of the IT Giants like TCS, Wipro, Microsoft and Mahindra Satyam are located, a Cyberabad police official said.

"We requested 18 companies of paramilitary forces of which 11 have already arrived. We have deployed them at sensitive places. We are expecting the remaining seven in a day or two," Khan told reporters here.

The top cop of the city however said he did not anticipate any trouble and they are ready to tackle any kind of situation.

"In democracy, everyone has a right to dissent and protest. But if anyone tries to take law in to their hands, we will not let it happen. Additional forces are brought for the safety of the public," the commissioner said trying to allay the fears of political parties in Telangana that the additional security forces are brought into crush separate Telangana movement. .
