Low-cost tablet maker Datawind on Wednesday said it has partnered with Bangalore-based Reverie Language Technologies for adding multi-language support to its 'Ubislate' series of tablet PCs.

Through this tie-up, users of Ubislate tablets will be able to access the device in English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Punjabi and various other foreign languages, Datawind said in a statement.

"This language solution will benefit the users by offering a new world of services and products to a segment of world population that has been ignored for so long," Datawind CEO Suneet Singh Tuli said.

The technology will enable language integration at the operating system level, ensuring that users can interact with the device in a language of their choice.

Datawind, which had bagged a contract for supplying low-cost tablet Aakash to the government, has recently launched two new tablets in the price range of Rs 3,000-4,000.

The tablets -- Christened UbiSlate 7 and 7C -- feature a seven-inch display, 256MB RAM and are powered by Cortex A8 800 MHz processor.

The tablets run on Android's Gingerbread operating system and support GPRS as well as Wi-Fi.
