Award for contribution in education sector

K R Viswambharan, Vice Chancellor, Kerala Aricultural University has been bestowed with prestigious Dewang Metha award for outstanding contribution to education.

The award in recongnition of leadership, development and innovation shown by him in the eduction sector, was presented to Viswambharan in a function held at Mumbai yesterday.

Under the leadership of Viswambharan, Kerala Agricultural university has won national award for academic performence among Agricultural universities in india for the last three years in a row.

The innovative academic programmes intiated by his regime has grabbed worldwide attention. A former IAS Officer, Viswambharan has also been instrumental in taking Agricultural science to the doorstep of farmers.

The award is named after late Dewang Metha, the high profile chief of national association of software and service companies. Every year the award is given to significant contributions in the field of eduction, information technology and management.
