The solution will be integrated with multiple back-end systems- SAP, Maximo, Oracle, Esri and many more

UAE telecom giant Etisalat has announced the launch of a 'Mobile Workforce Management Solution' in collaboration with Syclo, a leading provider of enterprise mobility technologies for businesses and consumers.

The mobile workforce management solution will enable businesses to improve field worker efficiency and communication while leveraging the ubiquity of mobile devices to streamline field force management, inventory management, workflow approvals, IT asset management, fleet management and facilities management, among other operations, the company said in a statement.

The mobile workforce management solution will be integrated with multiple back-end systems such as SAP, Maximo, Oracle, Esri and many more.

The solution also has capabilities to run on multiple devices with true cross-platform support that, unlike other solutions, do not require the generation and maintenance of a separate code(s) for each device platform.

Moreover, it can be integrated with peripherals such as GIS, GPS, barcode scanning, RFID and bluetooth.

Etisalat Senior Vice President, Business Solutions Abdulla Ebrahim Al Ahmed said: "This solution will, in essence, provide enterprise data into the hands of field service personnel, offering an unprecedented capability to fully automate a company's mobile supply chain."

The announcement was made on the sidelines of GITEX, one of the leading ICT events in the Gulf region.

"We are excited to partner with a leading organisation such as Etisalat to offer access to some of the most advanced mobile technology available in the world," said Syclo International Managing Director Marc Chesover.

"Additionally, the partnership speaks volumes about the reach of Syclo's strategic global ecosystem and the scalability of our business model. Given the strong growth in demand for our proven mobility applications in the Middle East and Africa, we can jointly deploy and support a wide variety of mobility solutions in 2011 and beyond," he said.
