FINO introduces smart card for Tendu leaves collectors in UP

Financial inclusion services provider FINO today said it has launched a smart card based collection and payment disbursal system for Tendu leaves collectors in Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The smart card has been launched in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation (UPFC) and several banks. This system replaces the current system of tokens which are issued and usually settled for payment in 2-3 weeks time, FINO said in a statement. "This project will not only ease the entire process of collection and payment disbursement but also access to banking products and services," Manish Khera, CEO of FINO said. Smart cards will replace the current system of tokens which are issued and usually settled for payment in 2-3 weeks time, it said. FINO is also involved in government-funded schemes such as the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act and the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana.
