Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said his government will provide land and other infrastructure facilities to set up the country's first Geo-Spatial park.

Geospatial is a term widely used to describe the combination of spatial software and analytical methods with terrestrial or geographic datasets

Modi invited investors from across the country and overseas to be part of the first of its kind park in India.

Speaking after presenting Geospatial World Forum-2011 Excellence Awards here tonight, he said there was an overwhelming response to the investors worldwide to the 'Vibrant Gujarat' summit held recently in Gujarat.

"Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for investments to the tune of Rs 20.83 lakh-crore (equivalent to USD 450 billion) were signed at the conclave and I am hopeful that the investments would make Gujarat much more vibrant state in the country in the years to come," Modi said.

He said the MoUs were signed mostly for projects in infrastructure development, capacity building and manufacturing.

He said the training programmes taken up by his Government for improving skills of its 5-lakh employees was being well appreciated by several states and they were trying to emulate Gujarat, he claimed.

They were planning to reducing wastage of resources and time and enhancing productivity through the project. Modi invited the Geospatial World Forum to hold its biennial summit in Gujarat next time. He thanked the forum for choosing Gujarat for the "premier geospatial state" award.

Secretary of Ministry of Earth Sciences Shailesh Nayak, Director General of Ordnance Survey, United Kingdom C B Vanessa Lawrence were also present.
