In order to improve governance, the Haryana State Innovation Council has decided to frame State Innovation Policy, focusing on four major areas of health, education, water and environment.

A decision in this regard was taken in the first meeting of State Innovation Council (SIC) chaired by chief secretary Urvashi Gulati on Monday, an official release said.

The Haryana government had on August 18 declared the constitution of Haryana State Innovation Council, headed by state chief secretary for promotion of innovations.

The SIC, constituted on the lines of National Innovation Council (NIC), includes members from various walks of life including academicians and entrepreneurs.

Headed by the noted educationists Sam Pitroda, the NIC had requested the state governments to establish their respective State Innovation Councils (SIC) to create a road map for innovations in order to improve governance in their respective states.
