International Film Festival of India (IFFI) organisers have launched e-ticketing from this year's edition beginning from November 23.

State Information and Publicity Secretary Narendra Kumar told reporters today that National Informatics Centre (NIC) has developed a software which will enable the delegates to register their tickets for the festival online.

Kumar said this is for the first time that any film festival has introduced this system, which will do away with the rush at the ticket counters.

IFFI 2010 will be held in Goa from November 23 to December 3 in Goa's two cities  Panaji and Margao.

A delegate can book three shows a day and if he fails to turn up three times in a row for movie despite booking ticket than he will be blocked for next two days, he said.

Kumar said that in past there have been complaints of delegates booking the tickets but not turning up for the show.

"This used to leave theatres empty even though on record, all tickets were booked," he said.

The delegates can book the tickets two days in advance.

Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) Chief Executive Officer Manoj Srivastava said the tickets will have bar code so that they cannot be transferred.

"With this system in place, we will be able to generate data about the exact response of the delegates and also which movie evoked good response," Srivastava added.

ESG, a co-host for the IFFI 2010, has made available 2500 seats in eight different auditoriums in Panaji while 1200 seats would be available at Ravindra Bhavan in Margao.
