India IT, telecom cos to attempt business at international show

Indian IT and Telecom companies will participate in a joint international show, CommunicAsia 2011 and BroadcastAsia 2011, which will be held at Singapore next month to showcase their company's strength and strike business deals with international players.

Indian IT and Telecom companies will participate in a joint international show, CommunicAsia 2011 and BroadcastAsia 2011, which will be held at Singapore next month to showcase their company's strength and strike business deals with international players.

"Telecom major Bharti Airtel, Tata Communications, Shyam Telecom, VNL and many other companies have confirmed their participating in the show," Stephen Tan, chief executive, Singapore Exhibition Services said.

Singapore Exhibition Services is organiser of the event.

"Till date 10 Indian telecom product manufacturing company have also confirm their participation. These company will participate under banner of Telecom Equipment Promotion Council," Tan said.

TEPC is a body set up by Ministry of Commerce and Industry with Ministry of Communications and IT, promote and develop of export of telecom equipments and services.

The Indian telecom product manufacturing companies that have confirmed their participation under TEPC banner include Aksh Technologies, Coral Telecom, Finolex, Space Telelink, Prayaag Technologies, Nexge technology, Pragati Electrocom, Realtime Systems, Toshniwal Enterprise Controls and Magnaquest Technologies.

"If India has to attain leadership position in the new world economic order then we need to carve a niche for ourselves by active participation in very forum where ICT manufacturers can be present," said Rajesh Tuli, managing director, Coral Telecom

Tan expects 40 Indian companies to participate in the event.

"Around 22 Indian companies have confirmed their participation for CommunicAsia and 11 for BroadcastAsia. By the time, we close registration, I expect to see 40 Indian companies to confirm their participation," Tan said.

Though this number is small compared to about 2000 exhibitors which is mix of multinational companies and small and medium sized companies from around the world will be exhibiting at CommunicAsia 2011 and BroadcastAsia 2011.

However, there is still growth in the number of Indian exhibitor at this international trade exhibition.

"There is increase of 12 per cent in number of exhibitors from India," Tan said.

These four days event, CommunicAsia 2011 and BroadcastAsia 2011 are scheduled to start from June 21.
