With the objective to further strengthen the IT sector in the country, Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion council (ESC), will be hosting 'Indiasoft 2011', the largest IT global networking event, at Pune in Maharashtra on March 25 and 26, 2011.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, D K Sareen, Executive Director ESC, said ESC is the rallying point for ICT companies, particularly small and mid-size companies in the country with a membership strength of over 2300.

It was set up in the year 1989, when ICT exports from the country was a miniscule, he said.

'It is heartening to note that our efforts along with the tacit support from the Government have led to a creative IT revolution in the country with the result that digital breakthrough not only as become India's USP but also an engine for growth and employment generation', he said.

ESC has been organising programmes to suit the requirement of the ICT sector, particularly small and midsize companies since they require focused atention to operate within their limitations and to graduate to higher grade, he said.

Around 350 software and services buyers from over 75 countries, besides a host of renowned Indian companies, are expected at the Indiasoft 2011, he said.

Business delegations from USA, UK, Europe, Middle East, Japan, China, Korea, Latin America, Africa and ASEAN region would be participating in the Indiasoft 2011, he said.

Indiasoft, seeks to improve the visibility of the Indian software industry especially the SMEs and the start-up companies in the global IT market, he said. .
