Infosys bags MCA21 second phase contract

Project has a total outlay of Rs 357.81 crore

IT major Infosys has bagged the contract for implementing the second phase of MCA21 by the corporate affairs ministry.

MCA21 is designed to fully automate all processes related to enforcement and compliance of the legal requirements under the Companies Act. With the implementation of the second phase of the e-governance initiative, which will run from January 2013 till July 2021, the corporate affairs ministry will see gradual replacement of desktop, printers and scanners.

It has a total project outlay of Rs 357.81 crore. The amount includes Rs 54.42 crore for independent project management and certification, besides Rs 29.84 crore for continuous improvement and upgradation to the electronic service delivery of the Corporate Affairs Ministry.

In addition, new services like SMS and mobile enabled interfaces would be introduced for improved service delivery.

The cabinet committee on economic affairs had approved continuation of MCA21 project for its second cycle on Monday.
