Iris posts 34 percent growth, crosses Rs. 1,200 crore in distribution

With a growth of 34 percent in the year 2011-12, Iris, one of the largest domestic IT distribution companies in the country, achieved a turnover of Rs.1,200 crore from a turnover of  Rs. 823 crore.

Iris has been working for projects like UIDAI and had been supplying Lenovo notebooks for data recording across numerous stations all over the country through its wide base of channel partners.

Iris has contributed significantly to the National Population Registration Project (NPR) by providing the hardware for recording the information on microchip based intelligent cards that store pilfer proof information about the population of India through its partner Intellic.

Apart from these two projects, Iris had also facilitated Solutions on IBM servers and Lenovo desktops worth Rs. 30 crore to Punjab and Maharashtra through its partner Spanco for the nationally important Accelerated Power Development & Reform Program.

Among the new brands that have been added to their portfolio and have substantially chipped into achieving a 34 percent growth for Iris in the last financial year are Samsung, Acer, Zicom, Numeric and Uniline.

Iris supplied large screen displays of Samsung worth Rs. 7 crore to Chennai and Calcutta Airports. They also supplied Calcutta Airport, high quality integrated public address audio systems by an international Company called ATEIS.

IRIS has clocked a turnover of Rs.20 crore in the month of March from Samsung this year. It hopes to get Rs 300 Crore exclusively from Samsung by the end of this financial year.

Iris has also been equally active in distribution to the Education Sector. They serviced an order for 7,000 Lenovo notebooks to Amity. Expanding to five new locations every year, last year Iris added Patna, Raipur, Indore, Hubli and Surat to its fast expanding reach in India.

Last year Iris was also appointed as a Pan India Distributor for Dell’s newly formed Global Commercial Channel.
