The ministry of communications and IT highlighted some of the main issues that have adversely impacted the outsourcing space in India through a release.

Sachin Pilot, minister of state for communications and IT said, “ Various factors like the steep hikein visa under public law, extension of applicability of the public law, Ohio state’s executive order banning offshore outsourcing, US government decision to centralise blanket L visa at Chennai consulate and sharp jump in Visa rejection rates have impacted oustourcing in India adversely.”

According to national association of software and service companies (Nasscom), India’s  IT industry is concerned about US threats to stop outsourcing.

Pilot said that these issues have been raised regularly at most forums and meeting with the US side. In fact, recently, concerns of Indian IT industry were also raised by NASSCOM in the INDIA-US ICT working group meeting held in December, 2011 at New Delhi.
