Kerala Government has set up two "Labour Helplines" for the public to make their complaints about labour related issues. The helplines, set up at the initiative of Labour Minister Shibu Baby John, will come into effect from Wednesday, the traditional New Year of Malayalis.

One of these telephone lines (155300) could be used for public to either make their complaints regarding specific issues or seek information on any matter connected to the Labour Department, a press release issued by the minister's office said.

Contents of the calls received on the line would be immediately passed on in SMS format to three senior officials of the department for their quick action.

The second line (155300-3) could be used for taking up grievances directly to the Minister, which would followed by instructions to authorities concerned for prompt follow up.
