In a move that could bring transparency, all the land records in Haryana would be computerised by July 2012 under National Land Records Modernisation Scheme.

Special training would be imparted to all the tehsildars, naib tehsildars, kannongoes and patwaris for the purpose. Revenue Minister Mahender Pratap stated this while addressing a state-level workshop at Panipat under National Land Records Modernisation Scheme, an official spokesman said on Sunday in the state capital.

"A sum of Rs 40 crore would be incurred on computerisation of land records in the state," Raj Kumar, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Revenue said.

The minister said that the computerisation would ensure transparency in the functioning of revenue department and help the people in getting copies of their land records.

He asked the officers present in the workshop to give information about the problems being faced by them at tehsil level and said that a grant of Rs 25 lakh would be given to each district for providing various facilities in tehsils.
