Loop Mobile launches mobile TV

Mumbai-based telecom operator Loop Mobile today said it will offer mobile TV services to its over three million subscribers.

Mumbai-based telecom operator Loop Mobile today said it will offer mobile TV services to its over three million subscribers.

Loop Mobile, which has recently tied up with Indian Premier League team -- Mumbai Indians, will offer 40 channels on its network.

"To leverage the IPL Association, Loop Mobile has introduced Mobile TV for subscribers. In addition to access to 40 channels, Loop Mobile TV will show IPL matches through special T-20 Cricket Pack priced at Rs five per day," Loop Mobile said in a statement.

As the official mobile network partner of Mumbai Indians, Loop Mobile will provide its subscribers exclusive content like caller tunes, ringtones, wallpapers, videos and match trivia.

Loop would offer mobile TV packs like Mega Pack (all channels), T20 - 2011 Cricket Pack (till end May 2011), News Pack (popular news channels) and Entertainment Pack (popular music, movie and other channels).

"It has been our continuous endeavour to create unique products suiting various subscriber groups in Mumbai. Through Mumbai Indians, Loop Mobile will provide its VAS offerings and specially developed content, exclusively for subscribers thus giving us a competitive edge," Loop Mobile Chief Operating Officer Surya Mahadevan said.

Currently, operators like Bharti airtel and Tata Teleservices are offering mobile TV services.
