The primary schools under MCD to be linked to the civic body's education department headquarters and zonal offices through internet

The primary schools under MCD will be linked to the civic body's Education Department headquarters and zonal offices through internet by July, a move that is expected to boost monitoring of their activities.

Chairman of MCD Education Committee Mahinder Nagpal today said this will also help in ensuring transparency in the functioning of teachers. Nagpal said that with the introduction of the new system, all the MCD schools will be linked to headquarters and zonal offices. This will help the education officials to directly monitor the activities in MCD schools.

At first, 190 MCD schools in Shahdara (North) Zone will be made online. He said the online facility will enable the administration to keep check about students' admission in schools, results, supply and quality of mid-day meals, attendance of students, salary bill of teachers, transfer, attendance of teachers and curriculum on click of a mouse.

Nagpal said the introduction of the new system will not only lead to transparency in the functioning of teachers in MCD schools, but also make them more responsible towards imparting quality education to children to improve the standard of education in MCD schools.
