A state-of-the-art archive cell and an interactive website of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) were inaugurated by parliamentary secretary for IPR, R Tohanba in Kohima on Thursday. The archive contains photos, videos and publications since inception of the state in early 1960s in a digitized format.

In addition, DIPR has also developed an interactive website of 15 GB capacity, iprnagaland.gov.in, which will be hosted by Techknowlogiz Advisory Services of Guwahati and routed through NIC.

Apart from hosting all the important information of the department in the form of documents and photos, DIPR could now instantly host the daily Naga News bulletin, photos and videos of important public functions, department officials said.

Under this project laptops with data cards were provided to all the district IPR offices for instant transmission of news and photos of the events they cover and also have instant access to the website.

The project would go a long way in projecting the government activities in the right perspective and also keep the general public well informed about the activities of the government, the Parliamentary Secretary said.
