Nagland keen on tie-up with Kerala IT, team visits Technopark

Nagaland endeavours for 100 per cent e-literacy; hopes the proposed association would provide philip in achieving the goal

A high level delegation of the Nagaland Government visited Technopark, the hub of IT in Kerala, to study the Kerala Model of IT development and replicate it in the northeast state.

The delegation also explored possibilities of association with Technopark and Tecnology Business Incubator set up in Nagaland, a Technopark release said on Saturday.

The team, comprising Vikho-o Yhoshu, Advisor to the Chief Minister, IT & C, K.T.Sukhalu, Secretary, IT & C, held discussions with Kerala Additional Chief Secretary T Balakrishnan and Technopark officials.

"We will offer all help from Kerala IT and Technopark to develop the IT Park and a Technology Business Incubator in Nagaland," said Mervin Alexander, CEO-Technopark and Chairman, T-TBI.

"We came to visit Technopark with great hopes to learn from the leader in IT arena. The visit will enable us to efficiently design our IT Park and Technology Business Incubator," Sukhalu said.

"We have initiated steps to make Nagaland 100 per cent e-literate and we hope that the association with Technopark and Kerala IT will help us to succeed in our goal," Vikho-o Yhoshu, said.

The Department of Information Technology & Communication, Government of Nagaland engaged in the promotion and management of Information Technology in Nagaland is now undertaking development and operation and maintenance of the Nagaland IT Park Project through Public-Private Partnership on Design, Build & Transfer or Design, Build, Operate & Transfer basis.

The officials also visited the Kerala State IT Mission and held discussions with Ishita Roy, Director-IT Mission, yesterday. The delegates also visited the Infosys Campus to study about their green buildings.
