New web portal for West Bengal news

Website to provide daily compilation of West Bengal related news

PTI | September 12, 2011

Aimed at providing a daily dose of West Bengal-related news in a crisp manner, the Mamata Banerjee government today launched a dedicated web portal.

The website 'www.wbmediareflections.in' was launched by West Bengal PWD and Transport Minister Subrata Bakshi at Banga Bhavan here.

"The website presents a daily compilation of West-Bengal related news items published in various major newspapers. It is being managed by West Bengal Information and Culture Centre, New Delhi," Bakshi told reporters.

"Friends from the media fraternity are welcome to provide their valuable inputs about the website and also contribute by sending in their articles which can be uploaded on the portal," he said.

The minister also inaugurated an air-conditioned Media Centre equipped with wi-fi connection.

"We want Banga Bhavan to be the face of the new government in West Bengal," Bakshi said.

Trinamool Congress, led by Banerjee, stormed to power in West Bengal after sweeping the Assembly elections in May, marking the end of the over three-decade long Left Front rule.
