Residents of this satellite township will now be able to monitor the progress of various development projects in their localities by logging into the Gurgaon municipal corporation's dedicated portal.

The municipal corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has started the portal 'Pragati' which has all information regarding the development projects undertaken by the corporation.

According to MCG commissioner Sudhir Rajpal, "Councillors as well as the residents will be able to monitor projects taken up in their areas".

The MCG has also conducted training sessions for resident welfare associations and officials for using the portal.

'Pragati', launched in December, aims at bringing transparency in the developmental projects in the MCG areas.

Earlier, people could only access MCG's plan under- execution on the portal whereas now they can monitor the progress of the projects as well.

Rajpal said that photographs of various project sites before and after the development will also be uploaded every week so that progress can be monitored.

"Currently, the portal carries the details of 310 development projects carried out in 35 wards of the district on which an amount of Rs 170 crore has been spent," he said.

He told that the portal also carries the details of 139 proposed schemes for which a budget of Rs 67 crore has been proposed.

In each ward what all projects are going on, how much money is being spent, the beginning date of the project, the proposed and actual date of completion, the reason for any delays along with the details of the contractor can also be accessed.
