SAP India, in partnership with Hewlett-Packard India, has launched a Centre of Excellence at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.

This centre will deliver next-generation solutions on the SAP HANA platform and Sybase Unwired Platform, the mobile enterprise application platform that simplifies the development, deployment and management of mobile enterprise applications, the company announced on Friday.

"Customers across the globe are deploying SAP HANA and recognising the benefits of in-memory computing for their organisations.

With this centre of excellence, Indian customers will be able to experience how SAP HANA can help make them a best-run business and dramatically simplify existing IT landscapes," SAP India Managing Director Peter Gartenberg said.

Customers that have adopted Sybase Unwired Platform in India, include Lincoln Helios, Bill Forge, AS Cargo, Intas Pharma, Egon Zehnder International, among others, company sources said.

With SAP, businesses of all sizes can respond in a better way to real-time business dynamics through cost-efficient, simplified deployment, development and management of native and web-based mobile applications on a wide array of device types, company sources added.

"Mobility is fast becoming a regular way of life.

Organisations like ours need a mobile strategy to manage data and maximise efficiency.

SAP offers a wide range of mobility solutions that are easy to deploy and use, and enable an easy work flow management," Intas Pharmaceuticals Ltd's Chief Information Officer Jatin Acharya said.

"With SAP, our top management can now take quick and informed decisions, regardless of location, and with enhanced engagement levels with customers and partners," he added.

SAP India has already got 200 customers to subscribe to its new product. The service will also be available as a cloud computing service and the company plans to acquire a client base of small and medium enterprises in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

"In enterprises today, information technology is required to scale up, provide real-time insights into business and help companies decide with confidence and respond boldly and quickly," SAP Asia Pacific Senior Vice-President Simon Dale said.

"Together with our customers and partners, SAP offers the industry's most comprehensive set of in-memory and mobility solutions to help people, businesses and entire industries collaborate better, decide better, adapt better and operate better," Dale added.
