Ordinance to help in expediting clearance of investment proposals

PTI | December 16, 2010

The Rajasthan government today decided to bring an 'Rajasthan Enterprises Single Window Enabling and Clearance ordinance' for expediting investment proposals.

This is aimed at ensuring smooth, simplified and hassle free dealing and handlings of procedure for setting up industries and other related matters in the state.

The ordinance will be issued before January 1 in order to enact the Single Window Act in all the divisional headquarters and Alwar region of the state.

The decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting here chaired by the state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

"Following the ordinance, District Collector will have powers to approve and give permissions to the proposals worth upto Rs. 10 crore", Gehlot told reporters

He said a state level committee headed by Chief Secretary will decide on the proposals above Rs. 10 crore.

Bureau of Investment promotion will work as the nodal agency.

Investors will have to submit their applications online to the nodal agency and can complete other formalities subsequently.

"The agency will forward the proposal to the respective department for necessary and time bound decision.

If the departments fail to dispose the applications in the set duration of time, the state level committee will issue necessary approval and permissions, and action will be initiated against those who did not take timely decisions," Gehlot said.

Expeditious clearance of investment proposals will help in industrial growth in the state and create new job opportunities, he said.
