TCS to establish SDC for UP at Rs 19.9 Cr

UPDSC, TCS sign agreement to set up data centre

Uttar Pradesh Development System Coporation (UPDSC) and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) today signed an agreement to set up a state data centre here.

The agreeement was signed by UPDSC Managing Director, Narendra Kumar Khushwaha and Global Vice President TCS, Tanmay Chakravarty, Principal Secretary IT and Electronics Chandra Prakash told reporters.

He said that TCS would establish the centre with the cost of Rs 19.9 crore within six months after which data of all the departments would be stored there.

"Even if the data is lost by the department due to some reasons, it would be recovered by the data centre", he said, adding that after its establishment, TCS would be responsible for its maintainance for five years after which it would be handed over to the state government.
