Techcom, one of the leading brands in IT peripherals and consumer electronics, on Wednesday announced entering into southern markets by launching two new handsets aiming expansion, a senior company official said.

The latest models 135 and T65, which come with a bouquet of pre-loaded multimedia features, cater to the segment of user on move, he said.

The launch of the phones mark yet another business landmark for the company, as it brings forth a world-class range of hand-held products within the reach of consumers. The new mobile devices denote a strategic move by Techcom towards becoming a leader in the 'mobility market' in Southern India, by building upon its core competency of providing quality products at affordable rates, Ajay Kedia, Director of Techom told media persons today.

"After receiving a fantastic response in Karnataka, we are looking to open up newer fronts in the markets of southern India. We see Andhra Pradesh as a market with immense potential and the move will help us in consolidating our presence in this part of the country. With deeper penetration of mobile telephony into semi-urban and rural areas, the market is slated to grow further," Kedia said.

We will complemented this move by setting up a strong network of distributors with an aim of 30-plus distributors and 30-plus service centres, having at least one distributor and service centre in each district, in addition to the already operational 20 distributors in Andhra Praesh," he said. .
