As part of implementing Information and Communication Technology education and e-governance, around two lakh personnel in the education department would be trained under the `IT@School' scheme, Anvar Sadath, Executive Director of the project said today.

The target group of people for the 17 types of training programmes would include lower primary, upper primary, high school, higher secondary teachers, headmasters, principals, deputy directors, district and assistant education officers, ministerial staff, students and category-wise teachers, Sadath said in an official release.

For each training, modules would be different, while ICT and internets skills are common topics.

IT@School has equipped around 28,000 school IT co-ordinators in all schools for imparting training in graphic design, hardware maintenance and new media.

IT@School project is the technology arm of the General Education Department of Kerala government, set up to empower the state school populace by imparting ICT-enabled education and to implement e-governance within the department.
