UID process to roll out in Mysore, Tumkur on Oct 8

950 workstations to be established to facilitate process

The Unique Identification number (UID) would be rolled out at Mysore and Tumkur on October 8, State Principal Secretary (e-Governance) M N Vidhyashankar said here today.

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa would launch the programme at Mysore while Tumkur District Incharge Minister Shobha Kharandlje would launch it at the town the same day, he said.

A total 450 work stations would be set up in Mysore and 400 at Tumkur to help people enrol themselves to obtain UID number, he said.

The entire process is expected to be completed by December 2010, he said.

"The process will commence in other parts of the state next year and most of it is expected to be completed by December 2011," he said.

Around 47 organisations are involved in the process.
