In a bid to capitalise on the charisma of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP has decided to compile all speeches, poems, interviews and writings of the ailing leader to reach out to the people.

"BJP President Nitin Gadkari today announced the launch of Samagra?Atalji Project, a mega-documentation exercise of all the spoken and written words of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the eve of his 86th birthday," the party said in a statement.

All speeches, poems, interviews, photographs and other spoken words as well as written articles of Vajpayee in audio, video and text formats will be compiled and converted into digital format later.

The party has been missing the magic of Vajpayee, a known orator.

"Vajpayee is undoubtedly one of the leading statesmen and popular politicians of the country and tallest of all national leaders," Gadkari said.

The project will be taken up by Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, a Mumbai-based training and research organization affiliated to the RSS, as an assignment and completed within a year.

Prabodhini had earlier compiled all the non-political speeches of Atalji and published an anthology entitled "Beyond Politics".

BJP units will soon appeal to the people to send whatever material they have in their collection on Vajpayee.

This material will be compiled and later made available in different formats. This collection will be on a variety of subjects, occasions, formats and languages.

"This will be perhaps for the first time that such a project is being taken up by a political party," the statement said.
