Vakrangee gets UID enrolment order from UBI; targets 1,500 cr

Vakrangee Softwares Ltd has bagged order from Union Bank of India to enroll people under the Unique Identification.

Vakrangee Softwares Ltd today said it has bagged order from Union Bank of India to enrol people under the Unique Identification (UID) project and is looking at Rs 1,500 crore in revenue from such work.

"We target to achieve around Rs 1,500 crore revenue from UID enrolment projects. We will also work with other registrars of UID as an enrolment agency," Vakrangee said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange

It said UBI has awarded the project to the company through a tendering process and it will work in the capacity of enrolment agency for UBI's all nine zones, covering 18 regions as per the purchase order.

In the project, UBI is the registrar for UID.

Vakrangee said it is looking to enrol around 30 per cent of residents of India for the UID project and will deploy around 10,000 enrolment kits.
