ZTE India restructures senior management team

ZTE has roped in local Indian talent for key top-level positions at a time when it looks to consolidate its operations in the country

Telecommunications equipment and network solutions major ZTE Corporation on Sunday announced restructuring of its senior management team in India, including appointment of Yotesh Sharma as the Sales Head for its Indian arm.

Sharma, who was earlier with Huawei, will be reporting directly to the Cui Liangjun, Chief Executive Officer of ZTE India, the company said in a statement.

In addition, Kapil Ahuja has been named as the Chief Technical and Marketing Officer for ZTE India and Shuktij Singh as the Senior Vice President of Indian Engineering Service Centre.

Pradeep Kumar Yadav has been appointed as the Chief Information Security Officer of ZTE India.

Besides, Ravinder Diwan has joined as the HR Head of ZTE India.

While Ahuja and Singh were earlier with Nokia Siemens Network, Yadav was with Videocon Telecommunications and Diwan was with Huawei.

The company said that it has roped in local Indian talent for key top-level positions at a time when it looks to consolidate its operations in the country India and gear up for strong growth in the Indian market.

"The appointment of Indians at senior management positions is central to and a critical aspect of ZTE's localisation strategy for the Indian market. With this latest initiative, ZTE India?s local Indian workforce strength now stands at 90 per cent of its total strength of over 3,500 employees in India," the statement said.

"At ZTE India, we are now at a stage where we want to take the company?s growth story to the next level and we felt it imperative to reorganise the top management team with local Indian talent as we focus on consolidating our presence in India," Liangjun said.

He said that going forward the company plan to further increase the local talent pool by hiring over 100 more employees to strengthen its Enterprise and Terminal sector team.

Among the new appointments, Sharma will head ZTE India's sales function across all existing and new product lines and will also be responsible for establishing long-term strategies and partnerships for the firm's clients in India.

Ahuja will be responsible for identifying ZTE India's long-term vision and he will lead the technology team.
