K R Nandan, son-in-law of former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao, is the senior most IPS officer in Andhra Pradesh of the 1975 batch, and thus is the main contendor for the post of DGP. Chief Minister K Rosaiah is likely to take a decision after consulting Congress party leadership.
