EESL is a joint venture of central public sector enterprises – NTPC Ltd, PFC, REC and Powergrid. INSPIRE 2017 has been organised in association with World Bank and Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE).

World Bank Group’s senior director, John Roome expressed concern on mitigating climate change and said that India is the third largest energy consumer in the world. In India, the World Bank is proud to be partnering with EESL on a major $300 USD million programme, which is a long term low cost loan. The next five years will be critical for if we want a world that we would like our children to live in. And bold action on Energy Efficiency will be a key part of that action, Roome said.
