36 MPs in all party delegation to J&K

Home Minister P Chidambaram on Monday with the 36 members of all party parliamentary delegation shall undertake a three days visit to Jammu and Kashmir.  Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pavan Bansal shall also be assisting the Home Minister. Bansal will be alternate leader of the delegation.

Numbers of the all party delegation is now 36, four from Congress four from BJP and the equal representations of 8 political parties in both houses of Parliament.

Monday morning the delegation shall leave Ne Delhi arrive in Srinagar, After a stay in Jammu, the delgation shall return to Delhi on Wednesday afternoon.

The all party delegation shall interact with the locals on the day of arrival in the afternoon shall interact with the senior officials on the evening. On Monday night the delegation shall stay in Srinagar.

On Tuesday morning the delegation shall leave for Jammu.During forenoon the delegation shall interact with the locals, and evening the delegation to meet the Government officials Tuesday night stay of the delegation shall be in Jammu.

PMO felt that Union Home Ministry should engage a chartered Indian Airlines aircraft which is remodelled with only economy class PMO instructed  JK  adminstration that the safefy and security of the all  party delegation is that of the DGP and Chief Secretary.

Extra precautionary measures have been taken for the all party delegation to interact with atleast 250 to 300 common men drawn from violent areas.
Six senior officials of the Union Home Ministry and security agencies shall be accompanying the delegation.

Possibility of inclusion of two parliamentary translators from English to Hindi, Hindi- Tamil are also being taken for quick translations for the benefit of MPs from Southern India.
