A court on tueday recorded the statement of a woman who had lodged a complaint against the police accusing it of atrocities during the farmers' agitation against land acquisition by Uttar Pradesh government in Bhatta Parsaul village near here in May last year.

Archana, whose statement was recorded by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, is the wife of one of the accused Neeraj Malik who was booked by police on the charge of rioting and other sections under IPC.

She told the court that on May 8 last year, policemen had entered her house, misbehaved with her and assaulted her and robbed Rs one lakh cash, 50 gram gold jewellery and some silver jewellery.

She further alleged that policemen, while going out, untied the cattles from the pillar. Their buffalows and cows were not traceable since then

She had gone to Salempur, out of fear, at her father's house.

Her advocate D S Bhadana said the CJM court had on November 30 directed the filing of an FIR against policemen.

The next date of hearing has been fixed for January 28.

In three other cases of Kanti and Vijay Devi of Achhepur and Rajbati of Parsaul, the statement recording date has been fixed for February 4.
